Is it OK to erase the SD card while in Android mode? (Nook Color)

Last Updated: Mar 16, 2016 12:15AM EDT
Yes. As long as you have not transferred anything such as music or videos from your computer to the card since receiving it then you should have nothing to lose.

To erase the card, first click on the menu button from the home screen.

Choose "Settings" and then "Storage."

The card is separated into four partitions. Choosing to erase the SD card (the top choice only) will not remove Android or any of the apps. It will only delete what you have transferred or downloaded to the SD card. This includes any apps that you chose to "move to SD Card" under Application Manager. Move them back "to phone" before erasing the SD card if you don't want to lose them.

Important note: If you choose to erase the SD card (any but the first option to do so), it could alter things that cannot be changed. For instance, the last option will erase the Nook's internal memory and allow you to use it as storage. We do not recommend doing that since it would void your warranty and render your Nook useless without the card.
