Is it possible to add a simulated LED notification light?

Last Updated: Mar 16, 2016 12:25AM EDT
While the Nook does not have a built-in LED notification light, there is an app that does basically the same thing. This app is called "NoLED" and can be downloaded from the Market/Play Store.

Once the installation is finished, press the "N" button to return to the home screen. Open the App Drawer (the four-square icon). Tap NoLED Settings. Read the notification and press "Dismiss."

Tap "Switch NoLED on" and make sure the check box is checked.

NoLED is now set up. You will see a small icon on your screen when you get a message. When you do get a message and NoLED shows up, just hit the "N" button to get to the lock screen.

If you would like to add permissions so that apps other than those that have been preselected show notifications, you can do so by opening the App Drawer, tapping NoLED Settings and pressing "Toggle notifications." Now choose "Monitored Apps" and find the app you want to add. Tap the check box. You have now added that app to NoLED which will allow you to see notifications for it.
