Can I change my theme in Jelly Bean?

Last Updated: Mar 16, 2016 12:02AM EDT
Yes, you can change your theme in Jelly Bean. Most of the workable themes allow you to change how your Nook looks while running Android. So, if you pick a green theme, your keyboard might turn green along with some of your app icons and navigation bars. Same thing for red or blue--really, it's up to you to test them out and see which one you like best.

There are many options in the Play Store for themes that will work with Jelly Bean. If you do a search for "CM10 themes," you'll find tons of free options. For your convenience, we've compiled a short list of direct links to simple theme changers that we know work.

Type the address into your browser or open this FAQ on your Android to click the link. Once you've downloaded a theme, you can set it by following these steps:
  • From your home screen, tap "Settings," then "Themes."
  • Tap the theme you want.
  • Tap "Apply." If you get a warning saying "Theme Error," tap "Apply Anyway."
  • Enjoy! You have just applied your theme!
Tip: If you get an error that says "Improperly compiled," apply the default "System" theme, reboot, then apply the theme you want. If that does not work, it is likely that the theme is not compatible with your device. Not all themes are created equal and some will simply not work.
