What is App Data?
App data is all of the information your apps remember while you use them. More simply put, it's the level you've reached in Angry Birds, or the work email that's always there for you even when you're offline. Most of today's apps sync themselves, although there are still a few that don't.
a) From the Play Store, download and install the app
"Helium - App Sync and Backup."

b) Open the app. You will be prompted to log into your Google account. Tap "No Thanks."

c)Tap "OK" on the next screen.

d)When you get to the "Root" screen, tap "OK" and then allow "superuser" permissions.

e)You will now be presented with a list of your installed apps. Select only the app data you want to keep. At the bottom, choose "App Data Only (smaller backups)." Then tap "Backup."
Do NOT backup the apps themselves.

Important Note: Do Not Backup Trebuchet or WiFi Settings

f) On the following screen, tap "External SD Card." This is actually your Nook's internal storage. (If you would like something more permanent, we definitely recommend paying $5 for Helium Premium and using the Cloud Storage option instead.)

g) After several minutes, you will see a pop-up telling you "Performing backup..." change to "Backup Complete." Tap "OK."

Some users have reported an error during this final step. If you get a pop-up saying there has been an error due to a Desktop Password, click on "Set Password," find the password button on the right-hand side, and set a blank password. Then click on the back button and try again. It may take a few tries, but this should work.

a) If you have a Nook Color or Nook Tablet, plug your device into a Windows PC. If you own a Nook HD or Nook HD+ and do not have a micro SD card adapter, please contact us for a free one (card customers only).

b) Click the link below for instructions and downloads for the most recent versions of our software.
If you are an N2A customer and do not have a download link, or if you are unable to find your download link, please contact us and we will send you a new link.

a) Using the "My Apps"--"All" list in the Play Store (found by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner), reinstall the apps you want to use. You can tap through them one at a time without waiting for the install to complete.

b) Install Helium- App Sync and Backup

c) Tap "Restore and Sync" on the top of the screen.

d) Tap "External SD Card."

e) Tap the apps you want to restore. (If you do not have the app installed yet, it will bring you to the Play Store so you can download the app and install it. Then go back to Helium to complete this process.) Tap "Restore."

Important Note: Do Not Restore Trebuchet or WiFi Settings

f) Select "Restore my data" on the next screen. As it goes through the process, you will see it "Restoring."

g) When it is done, you will see "Restore Complete."
